In November 2024 the second tranche of hearings concluded on the Proposed District Plan. Decisions on the topics covered in these hearings are scheduled for the Thursday 12 June 2024 Kōrau Tūāpapa | Environment and Infrastructure Committee.
The Committee will review recommendations from the Independent Hearings Panel (IHP), which has deliberated and provided recommendations. These reports include a recommended set of district plan provisions and outline whether submissions should be accepted or rejected.
Second set of hearings – February to November 2024
There were seven hearings between February and November 2024.
Tranche 2 of Proposed District Plan followed the standard Plan Change processes (RMA Schedule 1, Part 1).

Ahead of Council decisions, the Independent Hearing Panel’s reports will be presented to the Council in five public briefings. These briefings will take place at 113 the Terrace, and will be livestreamed and recorded on the Wellington City Council YouTube .
