Emergency management

Wellington Region Emergency Management (WREMO) offers training for volunteers in Civil Defence Emergency Management.

Parks, gardens and reserves

The work of Wellington volunteers helps restore our natural environment, eradicate pest plants and animals, and build tracks and walkways for everyone to enjoy.

Volunteer activities can include:

  • group planting and restoration
  • animal pest control
  • weed control
  • track building
  • rubbish collection
  • tour and guide work in a botanic garden with our Friends group or Trust.

Zealandia

Zealandia offers various roles within their volunteer workforce. They run a number of work-groups covering a wide range of tasks. Whether you donate your time once a month, or regularly each week, there’s bound to be a way for you to get stuck in.
