Burials

Burials are held Monday to Friday, between 8am and 4.15pm. Book a burial site at Karori or Makara Cemetery.

Plaques and headstones

Memorial plaques take about 8 weeks to complete. Find out how to install, remove or add an inscription to a plaque.

Cremations

Cremations take place at the Karori Crematorium, Monday to Friday. See the fees associated with cremations.

Buy a plot

Each cemetery has its own guidelines for plots. Apply to buy a plot for a burial or to scatter ashes.

Memorial seats and trees

Commemorative categories include planting, seats with a plaque and other memorials and monuments. These help memorialise or celebrate significant events, such as a birth or death.
