The councils in the Wellington region have worked together to produce the Wellington Region Waste Management and Minimisation Plan (WMMP). It sets a vision, objectives, targets, and action plans, to take us closer to a future where we collectively care for our resources.
This joint plan enables a more efficient and consistent approach to our waste management infrastructure, services, and activities to increase reuse, recovery, repurposing and recycling of waste over the next six years (2023-2029).
This plan outlines how the Councils, mana whenua, community, industry, and businesses can work together to transform how waste is generated, managed, and minimised in the Wellington region.
