Rebecca was first elected to represent the Wharangi Ward in 2019. Her passion is housing and creating a liveable affordable city for all.
Prior to being a Councillor, Rebecca worked in the trade union movement and NGO sector in campaigning, communications and policy roles.
She has helped lead social change across a number of issues, including increasing paid parental leave, to retain the MMP voting system and pay equity for women workers. She is particularly proud of her work for a Living Wage, as a founding Wellington board member.
Rebecca and her husband Ewan rent their home in Ngaio which they share with their blended family of teenagers Thea and Cameron. In her spare time Rebecca is an avid reader and obsessive user of Wellington's wonderful libraries.
