Supplier webinar series

We're launching a series of webinars to explain new ways we’ll work with suppliers, while keeping our city's emissions reduction a top priority for everyone involved.

There will be a series of five webinars that cover our new processes and cost-effective measures suppliers can take to reduce emissions, and to meet targets of net zero by 2050. As the webinars happen, we will be adding recordings to this page.

Webinar one

Topic: Greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reporting, targets and developing emission reduction plans

Featuring Jeska McHugh from McHugh & Shaw ltd, and Dr Mike Hopkins from Carbon Energy Professionals (CEP) discussing completing GHG emission inventories and what professionals are available to assist.

Webinar two

Topic: Solar generation on commercial buildings

Featuring Hamish Nicholson from CentrePort and Paul Makumbe from Sunergise, both discussing business cases, reducing emissions and financial benefits of commercial solar.

Suppliers and our emission targets

The indirect value chain (Scope 3) from our suppliers makes up 63.3% of the Council's emissions breakdown. Any suppliers who adopt an science-aligned emissions target will help us to achieve our city target within our First to Zero climate action plan, which is to reduce our city emissions by 57% between 2020 and 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050.

Council has a goal that by 2028, two thirds of our total spend on goods and services will be with suppliers who have science-aligned emission reduction target(s).

More information will be available at a later date.
