Partnering and delivering with suppliers who are aligned with our values is important to us. As a local government authority, we operate differently to central government or a private sector company – our focus is our local community.
Suppliers should also expect to see and be able to commit to relevant requirements and contractual obligations relating to:
- Health, safety, and wellbeing
- Information and data security
- Accessibility, diversity, and inclusion.
RFx terms and conditions
We have developed an amalgamated version of the public sector-wide standard RFx terms that will apply when a supplier is submitting a response to any RFx activity. These terms and conditions are available here, and unless otherwise stated, will apply to all RFx activities we undertake.

Standard contract terms and conditions
We have a set of standard terms and conditions we contract under to make sure both ourselves and our delivery partners can meet government legislation and regulation requirements. These are built into our standard contract forms and are reflected in an example here.
Suppliers should expect to see these standard terms and conditions when entering into a contract with us. Terms may be negotiated to ensure they are fit for purpose for the contract in question.

Trade terms
Unless the goods or services are supplied under a separate written agreement with the us, accepting a purchase order forms an acceptance of our trade terms.

Ngā Tikanga Matatika – Our Supplier Code of Conduct
We are looking to establish Ngā Tikanga Matatika - Our Supplier Code of Conduct. This is intended to be a foundational commitment for all suppliers who partner with us to deliver for the community. Ngā Tikanga Matatika stands alongside our contracts to uphold ethical supply chain practices. It will be published in early 2024.
