Recycling crates

45-litre green crates

An official Council 45-litre recycling crate must be used for your recyclable glass – clean glass bottles and jars only (no lids).

There is a limit of 2 glass crates per household.

Note: For the safety of our collectors, the crates must not be filled with glass above the top edge. If they are, they will not be collected. Bulk recycling can be done at the Recycle Centre at the Southern Landfill.

Where to buy a Council crate

You can buy a glass recycling crate at:

• one of our Council service desks
• Johnsonville, Kilbirnie, Miramar, Newtown or Tawa libraries – view branches
• the Tip Shop at the Southern Landfill.
