Buggy walks

Get outside and enjoy the city and suburbs with guided buggy walks, and buggy-accessible walks in Wellington reserves.

Buggy-accessible walks

All the following walks have good track surfaces, but some parts may be steep:

  • Mount Victoria ridgeline from the summit car park to Mount Alfred saddle, down to the corner of Alexandra Park and return.
Central City - Mount Victoria Loop
  • Mount Alfred saddle to the velodrome, then follow the Hataitai to Newtown Walkway to the dog exercise area and the mountain bike skill area. The return trip can be made along Alexandra Road.
  • Te Ahumairangi Hill (Tinakori Hill) has four-wheel drive tracks along the ridge that can be reached from car parks in Weld Street in Wadestown, or Orangi Kaupapa Road in Northland.
Northern Suburbs - Te Ahumairangi Hill Loop
  • Parts of Central Park, Brooklyn
  • Parts of Wrights Hill, Karori
Western Suburbs - Wrights Hill Loop
  • Karori Cemetery - of all the buggy walks around the city this one has had the most positive feedback due its rich history and environment. The Karori Cemetery has lots of established trees and backs onto Ōtari-Wiltons Bush, so the birdlife is great too.
