Directions
Starting on Murchison Street, this walk goes up through the pine trees onto the ridgeline. It then joins the City to Sea Walkway heading down the steps and into the Tawatawa Bush Track back to the start.
From the car park on Murchison Street walk through the gate and turn left on to a walkway.
Walk on the flat loop track until you see a way marker with Akiraho Track. Walk uphill at this junction. Continue on the track until you meet a junction that shows way finders pointing the Akiraho Track up hill to Tawatawa Ridgeline through the pines. You will walk through a gate onto the ridgeline. Turn right and follow directions to Quebec Street and the City to Sea Walkway.
You will find yourself at a grassy flat paddock looking south out to the Cook Strait. Walk across the grassy paddock to the City to Sea Walkway. Follow directions to Oku St Reserve. You will walk down a couple of long flights of steps. There is a junction on a flat section which has a way marker that shows the Tawatawa Bush Track. Take this track back to your start point.
