4. Application assessment
Once we've reviewed your documentation, a building inspector will contact you to arrange an inspection.
If there are parts of the work that we're unable to inspect, they'll be listed on your certificate as exclusions.
If your application is refused
Your application can be refused if you can't prove the work complies with the Building Code.
If you can't get a certificate of acceptance, you might be required to either:
- remove or rectify the building work – we will issue you a Notice to Fix stating what needs to be done
- get a building consent to carry out further work to meet the performance standards of the Building Code
