These calculators give you an estimate of the building consent fees you need to pay before your application will be processed. We have a number of calculators to cover the types of fees you may need to pay, including processing and inspection fees.
Hourly rates are set to allow the Council to recover reasonable costs incurred through inspections. This is done on a yearly basis and is based on the current operating environment. Inspections are then charged at this rate on the time they occur.

The estimate of your project’s value must include:
- materials, including salvaged materials
- design work
- building, plumbing and other contractor charges at normal commercial rates
- owner's labour priced at normal commercial rates
- project manager's charges
- GST.
