Waterfront car park areas

Find out about Council-owned car park areas on the waterfront.

Barnett Street carpark

The Barnett Street carpark will be closed from 2:00pm on Sunday, 14th September until 2:00pm on Monday, 15th September. Please use alternative parking during this time.

If the event is affected by weather, it will be postponed by 24 hours. In that case, the carpark will be closed from Monday evening through to 2:00pm on Tuesday, 16th September.

Frank Kitts Car Park

Entrance

Off Jervois Quay.

Overnight parking

No overnight parking is permitted. Gates close at 11.30pm and no re-entry will be allowed.

Motorhomes

Motorhome parking is available all day for campers under 2.2 metres wide (motorhomes larger than that won’t fit in the carpark). Overnight camping is available at the Barnett Street car park next to Te Papa and freedom camping is also permitted at certain locations around the city.

Motorcycles

No motorcycle parking is available at this location, however there is a motorcycle park near Wellington Museum.

Barnett Street Car Park

This car park is owned, managed and enforced by Wellington City Council.

Corner of Cable Street and Barnett Street.

Note: Because this area is used by the Harbourside Market on Sunday mornings, you can't park here overnight on a Saturday.

Motorhomes

Motorhome parking is available to freedom campers with self-contained vehicles, $30.00 per 24 hours.

Clyde Quay Wharf Car Park

This car park is owned, managed and enforced by Wellington City Council.

Entrance

Southern end of the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Herd Street.

Clyde Quay Car Park

Queens Wharf Parking

Entrance

North of TSB Bank Arena.

  • All day Monday to Sunday: Time Restricted only parking on the wharf.
  • Check signs for restrictions.
