Assessing your application
Your application for Council funding is assigned to a lead assessor who assesses all the material against the criteria specified by the fund.
The assessor may contact you and other organisations for further clarification before making an assessment.
Recommendations
The assessment of your application forms the basis of our recommendations to decision makers.
The decision makers
For the majority of our funds, decisions are made by Councillors through the Grants Subcommitee.
The Councillors receive:
- access to the information you submitted in your funding application
- a report containing Council Officers' recommendations a minimum of 2 days before a meeting is scheduled to discuss suitable applications.
To see the recommendations, go to the meetings calendar and look at the Grants Subcommittee's meeting details.
You can participate in the committee meetings as long as:
- you have applied - in writing, orally or electronically - to address the meeting and have lodged this with the Democratic Services team by 12 noon of the working day before the meeting concerned
- the Chair approves your application to address the meeting
To arrange this, contact Democracy Services. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
