Supporting change in our city
There are many ways to advocate for change in our city.
We often ask for public feedback on our ideas and proposals. When you make a submission on consultations and engagements, you are helping to shape decisions made about the future of our city. Find out what consultations are underway, and have your say.
Creating your own ePetition is a way to allow people to petition the Council on matters relevant to the Council’s business. This method is more convenient than paper-based petitions, and can reach wider audiences, thanks to the internet. See here to learn more about the process.
Attending Council meetings in person, or watching them online via our YouTube livestream, is a great way to stay up to date with what’s going on. Check out the Council meeting calendar. You can also address councillors directly by applying to speak during public participation.
If there are changes you want to see in the community, one way to start is to petition your local ward councillor. You can find the full list of councillors and their contact details here.
