Autumn Our Wellington magazine out now

Climate action takes centre stage in our latest free seasonal magazine.

The autumn edition of Our Wellington - Tō Tātou Pōneke is this week being delivered to letterboxes around the city. It covers the period 1 April to 15 June 2022.

This issue focuses on the climate emergency and how we can respond with a collective effort to make measurable change. Urgent action is needed to make sure we more than halve our emissions by 2030 and become a net zero carbon capital by 2050, as laid out in our Te Atakura First to Zero plan.

In this edition of Our Wellington we celebrate local skateboarder Mel Warner and the many positive aspects of skating, with our newly launched campaign, We Skate Pōneke.

Mel Warner enjoys the benefits of skateboarding and is passionate about helping others into the sport.

We also share a story about our 10-year plan to create a citywide network of bike and scooter routes and safer places to walk.

The autumn magazine has info on how you and your whānau can reduce food waste as a household and has tips on how to enjoy an eco-Easter with less rubbish.

We showcase some of our climate action team members and how they are leading change within the Council and around the city.

We share a sneak peek of the new Frank Kitts playground upgrade, as well as a story about Wellington City Council’s Te Kāinga programme, which is creating more affordable apartments for Pōneke’s essential workers.

On top of all this, there’s updates on projects and news and information about upcoming events, exhibitions, and Council meetings.

As well as the hard copy, the magazine is available online as a PDF (download button above), and we now also have a text-only version to help with accessibility and compatibility with screen readers.
