Seeds to Feeds, which launched last year and is supported by Wellington City Council, is a summer-long festival celebrating locally grown kai with a focus on building strong community networks.
Throughout the summer months, suburb coordinators worked with their local teams to grow produce, connect to local producers, create foodie workshops, and make a 'Feed' event for their wider community at harvest time. Tickets were sold on a ‘pay as you are able’ basis, with all revenue going back to the communities.
Resilience Advisor Janey Thornton says the Seeds to Feeds team did a fantastic job of pulling the city’s diverse communities together for another year.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. From crop swaps, to water slides, to vibrant three course meals, our community spaces have been bursting with energy this summer. Ka pai to everyone involved!”
